Judy Williams, Barbara Reade, Nelda Pryor (1991 Fashion Show at the Stockdale Country Club)

Classy Knits & Yarns was established in 1989 by Judy Williams. She started in a studio upstairs in the Historic Hay building. At this time Judy designed and knitted her garments for display at fashion shows. One of the most memorable one was at the Stockdale Country Club sponsored by the Guild House in 1991. What a growing experiences.

From there everyone liked the fibers that she was using and talked her into selling them. Now Classy Knits & Yarns has turned into a full service knitting, crochet and needlepoint shop. Judy will be forever grateful for all her customers support through the years.

We asked our customers what their impression of Classy Knits & Yarns is...
Here are some of their answers:

~ Friendly, colorful, inviting, idea- filled sunlight; laughter; new friends and shared stories; textures; the softness of wool, the slick slide of silk, the roughness of linen

~ Warm, Friendly, inviting, cozy

~ Bright; happy place for me. Full of my favorite things. Organized. Clean.

~ It gives Meg and me that wonderful feeling of comfort and fun. It is awe inspiring to be among the beautiful yarns. You arrange everything so beautifully and it gives me ideas to knit. Pam

This striped, soft-colored hat would make a charming addition to a chic summer wardrobe. Can be made using these chalky, pastel colors or with brighter colors for a more bold look.

This is a great project that we are about to start. This cardigan features a scooped neckline, three quarter length sleeves and leaf details at the end of the ties. Perfect for chilly mornings in the spring or even breezy days in the summer.

This lace swirl cardigan was exciting to make and we recommend this project for those of you who love this uniquely stylish garment.

Tilli Tomas does wonders with her patterns. Here is one of the garments from her trunk showing. It's called the Drop Stitch Shawl and here we have it pinned with this beautiful hand painted butterfly shawl pin.

Here we are displaying a beautiful rusty orange cable sweater knitted with Elizabeth Austin Silky Flame yarn.
Pattern and yarn available.

This beautiful top called Sahara comes in three different styles: sleeveless, long-sleeved or short sleeved (design by Wendy Bernard). Sent to us by Stitch Diva Studios this short-sleeved version is made with two types of tilli tomas yarns which are available at our shop along with the pattern for all three versions.
